Jay Wright, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
Jay Wright recently served as CFO for Technical and Management
Services Corporation ("TAMSCO") where he negotiated
the sale of TAMSCO to Engineered Support Systems, Inc. Wright
previously served as CFO of Speedcom Wireless Corporation
where he helped raise more than $14.5 million in equity
funding for the wireless software technology company. Wright's
experience also includes serving as an investment banker
with Merrill Lynch and as a mergers and acquisitions attorney
with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, LLP in New
York and Foley & Lardner in Chicago.
Jay Wright received his Bachelor's degree in Business from
Georgetown University (summa cum laude) and a JD degree
from the University of Chicago Law School.
Jerry Sullivan, Director, President and Chief Operating Officer
Jerry Sullivan was appointed president and chief operating officer of MobilePro when the companies merged in January 2005. Still CEO of Kite, Sullivan also serves as CEO of MobilePro's wireless division, Kite Networks, Inc., and is on MobilePro's board of directors.
Sullivan has established and led a group of highly experienced telecommunications veterans in positioning Kite Networks as a leading national service provider in the wireless broadband industry. Under his leadership, Kite Networks has been successful in securing private equity ad debt financing in extremely hostile capital markets in order to pursue various opportunities in the wireless broadband sector.
Prior to Kite Networks, Sullivan was co-founder of Tritel, Inc., an AT&T Wireless PCS affiliate, where he served as director, executive vice president and chief operating officer. During 1998 and 1999, he was instrumental in securing approximately $1.3 billion in private and public and equity financings for the company. While at Tritel, Sullivan designed and implemented deployment standards that lead to the successful commercial launch of 48 key markets throughout the United States for cellular and PCS market deployments.
Sullivan has also served as director, vice president and chief operating officer of Mercury Communications, Inc., a cellular management company, which began operations in the early 90s, as well as similar positions in various cellular operating and/or holding companies.
Prior to his tenure in the telecommunications industry, in 1980, Sullivan began his career as a senior manager of First Energy Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of ChemFirst, Inc., where he gained extensive experience in all aspects of corporate operations.
Jack Beech, Director, Vice President of Technology
Jack Beech founded
Nationwide in February 1994 as a Texas Corporation located
in Dallas/Fort Worth. Jack developed Nationwide to become
the best Internet service provider in the region. Nationwide
distinguished themselves from other ISP's in the area by
providing the latest state-of-the-art Internet technology
to businesses, consumers, public institutions, and non-profit
organizations, offering technical muscle and know-how and
providing superior customer service.
Michael G. O'Neil, Director
As a senior member of Merrill Lynch
& Co.'s Investment Banking Division for more than 29
years, O'Neil raised more than $150 billion for Merrill
Lynch clients. He brings to MobilePro expertise in the raising
of debt and equity capital in the public and private capital
markets, mergers and acquisitions, project financing and
advising young technology companies. O'Neil is a member
of the board of directors of Capstead Mortgage Corporation,
a New York Stock Exchange listed company, and Massively
Parallel Technologies, Inc., a privately held software technology
company specializing in high-speed computing.
He received his bachelor's degree in
economics from the University of California, Berkeley and
his MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business at
the University of Pennsylvania. O'Neil also served in the
United States Marine Corps.
Chris MacFarland, Director
Mr. MacFarland has served as a Director of the Company since
December 2004. Mr. MacFarland also serves as the chairman designate
of the Company’s Nominating and Governance Committee. Mr. MacFarland is
Vice President of Operations for BroadSoft, Inc., a Gaithersburg, Maryland
company that is a leading software provider of hosted voice and multimedia
applications for service providers, a position he has held since July 2004.
Prior to joining BroadSoft, Mr. MacFarland was employed
by Allegiance Telecom, a leading CLEC based in Dallas, Texas, where he served
in a variety of positions between August 1998 and June 2004, most recently
as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. He previously served
as director of networks and consulting at Verio.
Don Sledge, Director
Sledge brings a long and distinguished career as a telecommunications executive, investor and financier to MobilePro. He worked for over 20 years as an executive with Pacific Telesis in San Francisco, Calif., rising to become president and CEO of Pacific Telesis International. After leaving Pacific Telesis, he served as chairman and CEO of Megaphone, Inc. where he successfully led the sale of that company. Sledge was then recruited to become chairman and CEO of Telecom New Zealand International where he worked from 1988 until 1993. During this period, Sledge helped lead the sale of Telecom New Zealand to Bell Atlantic and Ameritech and helped successfully launch the Telecom New Zealand IPO with listings on the NYSE, Sydney, London and New Zealand exchanges.
Over the past 10 years, Sledge has focused on finance and investments, including serving for three years as a managing director of Freemont Communications Venture Capital Fund and as chairman (until 2001) of Merriman, Curham & Ford (MCF), an Amex listed broker/dealer. Sledge sits on the board of directors of MCF and two privately held companies. He is slated to chair MobilePro's compensation committee.
